NEWS - NEW ONLINE E-TRIAL TEST SYSTEM/PLATFORM

New Online e-Trial Test System/Platform for CDC Class 2B, Class 3/3A, Theory and Foreign Licence Conversion learners and Private learners from 8 July 2019

Currently, ComfortDelGro Driving Centre (CDC) school learners and private learners registered with CDC attempt the e-Trial Test at the e-Trial Test room (‘current system’).

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance your learning experience, CDC will make the online e-Trial Test system (‘Online e-Trial) available to you from 8 July 2019. This is to provide both CDC school learners and private learners registered at CDC an additional avenue to attempt the e-Trial Test. As such, learners can attempt their e-Trial Test either at the CDC e-Trial Room or online.

The Online e-Trial is developed based on the actual corresponding Traffic Police Test format. The questions in the online e-Trial are also similar to the questions in the current system.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1) How can I log in to access the Online e-Trial?
To access the online e-Trial, follow the below steps.
Firstly, login using your learner id and password from the CDC website. Secondly, click on the Online e-Trial tab on the RMS menu bar to access the online e-Trial.

2) I have an existing booking on the current system at the e-Trial Room. Will my booking be affected?
There is no impact to your existing bookings on the current system. You should continue to attend those e-Trial sessions booked as usual.

3) I have an existing booking on the current system at the e-Trial Room. Can I change the session from a session in the e-Trial room to attempting it online instead?
To change from attempting the session in the e-Trial Room to attempting it online, school learners should cancel their session in the e-Trial Room before they attempt the session online. However, such cancellation is subject to the prevailing cancellation policies.

On the other hand, private learners registered at CDC should continue to attend, at the e-Trial Room, any/all of the e-Trial sessions that they booked on the current system as usual.

4) What is the difference between the online e-Trial when compared to the current system at the e-Trial Room?
Both platforms are largely similar. This is because both platforms are developed based on the corresponding actual Traffic Police Theory Test format and questions.

The format of both platforms are also largely similar. For instance, the duration of each session is 50 minutes for both the online e-Trial and the current system. Also, there are 50 questions for each paper for both the online e-Trial and the current system.

5) To attempt an online e-Trial session, what is the fee per session?
If the sessions are part of the enrolment package, there will be no charges.

For sessions above the number of sessions provided in the enrolment package, the fee is $7.49 with GST per session for school learners and $12.84 with GST per session for private learners.

6) Does the online e-Trial replace the current system at the e-Trial Room?
No, the online e-Trial does not replace the current system. The online e-Trial is an additional platform/avenue to attempt the e-Trial Test on top of the current system.

The current system and the e-Trial room will remain available even when the
online e-Trial is operational. Thus, learners can continue to book and attend e-
Trial sessions at the e-Trial room even after 8 July.

e-Trial sessions at the e-Trial room will still have to be booked beforehand and
be subject to availability of slots.

7) I have 4 e-Trial sessions as part of my enrolment package. If I wish to attempt 2 sessions using the online e-Trial, how many sessions can I attempt on the current system at the e-Trial room?
Learners have the choice to attempt part of or all of your e-Trial sessions on either platform. Also, learners can choose the combination of e-Trial sessions to attempt and the order of attempting these sessions via both platforms.

However, the number of e-Trial sessions provided as part of the enrolment package remain unchanged. Accordingly, the number of sessions attempted on one platform reduces the number of sessions available to be attempted on the other platform.

For instance, a learner may have 4 e-Trial sessions as part of his/her enrolment package. He/She may choose to attempt all the 4 e-Trial sessions on the online e-Trial and none on the current system.

Alternatively, if he/she chooses to attempt 2 e-Trial sessions on the online e- Trial, he/she can only attempt the 2 remaining e-Trial sessions using the current system.

8) Can I attempt the Internal Evaluation using the online e-Trial?
No. The online e-Trial provides e-Trial Test only. Internal Evaluation (IE) sessions continue to be available at the e-Trial room only. IE sessions are required to be booked beforehand and subject to availability of slots.

9) I have a question or need support for an Online e-Trial related issue. Where can I seek assistance from?
Please email training@cdc.com.sg.
